    Description

    Rare banking ephemera from the
    ZAMA, MISSISSIPPI STATE BANK
Dated 1-22-1927, it is a deposit receipt for .92.
In the early 1900s, Zama was a small town located a few miles southeast of Kosciusko, in rural Attala County.  Zama had a couple of hotels, a bank, post office, lumber mill and several other businesses.  The town was not able to survive the Great Depression.  This deposit receipt is from just prior to the Depression.  Today, there is nothing of the town left.
